For nearly 40 years, Pathfinder has partnered with the Egyptial government to advance reproductive health and rights, economic opportunity, and social stability. Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health<\/strong>\u00a0 Increasing Gender Equity and Including Youth<\/strong>\u00a0 Increasing Economic Opportunity for Women<\/strong> Women-Led Climate Resilience <\/strong>\u00a0
Pathfinder has partnered with the government to train a national cadre of health workers, so more people in more places have access to the contraceptive services they need. We work to prevent child, early, and forced marriage by gaining buy-in from Egypt\u2019s public and private sectors, including key ministers and religious leaders. We integrate family planning services into existing health services, integrating digital technology to improve access to and demand for reproductive health information and services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pathfinder has increased community support for family planning by transforming Primary Health Centers to Family Development Centers, where community members learn life skills and adopt gender equity norms. Pathfinder meaningfully engages youth and adolescents to design, adapt, and implement age-appropriate activities that speak to their needs and realities. By engaging men and boys, we promote positive norms around masculinity, while building community skills in preventing and responding to violence against women and girls.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pathfinder has increased women\u2019s participation in the workforce by working with local companies to highlight and demonstrate business incentives for recruiting and retaining women. We have worked with private-sector firms and site managers to adopt and implement key policies that reduce unsafe working conditions, including combatting sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence. Pathfinder has engaged men and community leaders where women employees live to ensure gains made in the workplace are not lost outside of it. And, Pathfinder has provided women with digital financial services. This includes micro insurance, micro savings and wider usage of digital payments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pathfinder has deployed an integrated climate-health-gender equity program that reflects the interconnection between communities and their environments.\u00a0We engaged women to spread awareness about the connections between climate change and health, building more climate-resilient communities.
