Pathfinder International Welcomes Nayé Bathily to Board of Directors

Washington, DC, May 25, 2021—Pathfinder International’s Board of Directors is proud to welcome Nayé Anna Bathily as our new member. Nayé is a recognized leader in the international development and social fields, with a career of over 20 years in the World Bank. She is a champion of women’s leadership initiatives, having founded Shine to Lead/ Jiggen Jang Tekki, a nonprofit organization in Senegal with the goal of supporting young women’s education in disadvantaged areas of Dakar and guiding them in the development of their own leadership.

A national of Senegal and the United Kingdom, Nayé is currently the External Affairs Manager for Western & Central Africa at the World Bank. Between 2015 and 2020, as Global Head of Parliamentary Engagement, she was in charge of providing strategic advice, stakeholder outreach and reputation risk management to the leadership of the region on climate, conflict and violence agenda, gender inclusion and economic empowerment amongst other areas. Nayé was a key player on the creation of the Parliamentary Network on the World Bank & IMF, an influential platform that engages law makers from around the world to address development and macroeconomic challenges in their home countries and abroad.

Nayé is on the Advisory Board of the Women in Africa Initiative (WIA) and is a member of the Women Investment Club and of the Siècle des Femmes. She is also a founding member of Espace Jappo, a network of Senegalese professionals based in France. Nayé has been named one of the 100 most influential Africans in the world in 2018 and was nominated in the Choiseul 100 of the Young African Leaders of Tomorrow in 2015.

“It’s an honor to have Nayé Bathily serve on our Board of Directors, which is increasingly expanding its frontiers,” said Roslyn Watson, Pathfinder International Board Chair. “Nayé brings to Pathfinder an extensive experience with leaders from all over the world, including from donor countries and the countries where we provide service. As a champion for women in leadership, she represents our hopes for all the girls and young women we serve.”
